Miss Becky Boulton Returns to TCS
TCS is happy to welcome alumna Becky Boulton to its staff for the 2013-21014 school year. Becky graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Wingate University in May 2013. At graduation she received the prestigious H.K. Helms Award for students graduating with a perfect 4.0 average. Becky was inducted into national academic and character based honor societies during her time at Wingate, including Phi Eta Sigma, an honor society for freshman with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and Kappa Pi, an international honorary art fraternity that recognizes outstanding art majors. Becky served two years as president of the Wingate University chapter of Kappa Pi, leading the organization as it participated in local philanthropic and artistic events. Becky made President’s list every semester during her four years as a student at Wingate, and she was selected to serve two years as Counterpoint Magazine’s art editor. In addition, she received the University’s Senior Art Award, given in recognition each year to the outstanding senior art major(s).
As an artist, Becky is skilled in a variety of mediums, including photography, charcoal, oil paint, watercolor, acrylic paint, ceramics, and mixed media pieces. During her junior year Becky entered an international art scholarship competition and earned a scholarship for her oil on canvas diptych entitled Secret. Her work was later published in Sketchbook Magazine. Her Generation-to-Generation photographic exhibit, a celebration of her family’s Christian heritage, was selected to appear in the annual Monroe Art Walk. In keeping with the tradition of past artists, Becky likes to use her art to bring honor to the Lord Jesus Christ. Her senior exhibit, entitled Love Thy Neighbor, encouraged Christians to be proactive in sharing the love of Christ. We are excited to have Becky working with the up and coming young artists at Tabernacle Christian School.
