Lauren Hyatt

After graduating from TCS near the top of her class in 2005, Lauren enrolled at South Piedmont Community College from which she earned an associate degree in nursing in 2008. Lauren, who made Dean’s list during her entire time at SPCC, quickly found a job working as a registered nurse at CMC-Union on a medical-surgical unit. While in this position she worked as a floor nurse, charge nurse, and preceptor for both new nurses to the unit and new graduate nurses. She was also chair of CMC’s unit based council from 2009-2010 and was the unit’s representation for the Nursing Education and Professional Development Committee.

While working, Lauren continued her education at South University, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2011 and again earning Dean’s list each grading period. She began her current position with Novant in October of 2011, working as an Operational Improvement Project Specialist. In this position Lauren works on multiple nursing processes, assessing and coaching employees on the new processes and changes, as well as working in the research and development phases. A lifetime learner, Lauren is currently working on her Master's Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Health Systems Management. She is enrolled at Queen's University of Charlotte and currently holds a perfect 4.0 GPA. She is scheduled to graduate in December 2013.
